2022 11 27 The power of the transformer

November’s special mission is the Angel Tree program. The nationwide Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year. Our local Salvation Army in Plainfield is one of the program gift suppliers. Once a child has been registered and accepted (there is a significant vetting process) as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with donors in the community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree.

For the last several years, our church has been supporting this program and we will again be getting the names, sizes and toy desires of ten children from the Plainfield area whose families are struggling. When we have our list of children’s names and their Christmas wishes, more information will be available. Feel free to invite friends or family to share in purchasing your chosen child's gifts. This can be a wonderful way for children and grandchildren to experience the joy of sharing gifts with children who are experiencing hardship. If you cannot shop for the gifts yourself, financial support is always welcome and others will do the shopping. Call Doris Mertz if you have any questions about the program.

Yours in Christ,

Barbara Aspinall
