Sunday Worship Service - September 11, 2022

Here is the link to the Sunday Worship

If you are in the area you are most welcome to join our in person worship service at 10:00 am in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church in Stirling. The Session at its last meeting decided that we can make wearing masks optional in the worship service. We will continue to try to sit apart from one another.

2022 09 11 Put on your party hat

September’s special mission is Nourish NJ, an ecumenical effort supported and run by congregations from the greater Morristown area. This important cause includes providing healthy cooked meals, groceries, and a free farmer’s market in a clean, warm, safe and friendly environment and treating their guests with dignity while giving them hope. It has grown to include 30 congregations and over 2,000 volunteers who serve from 80 to 180 guests every day, 365 days a year. About a third of these are homeless and some have mental illnesses or suffer from substance abuse. But most comprise the ever growing group of working poor, elderly and disabled who cannot afford the food to stay healthy. They also make arrangements for a myriad of other services such as Visiting Nurse services, Mental Health facilities and guidance in finding homes, employment and education. Our church will be gathering funds to send to Nourish NJ. If you would like to help with this important ministry, send a check made out to the church but marked “Nourish NJ” or “mission” and it will be forwarded through our treasurer.

Yours in Christ,

Barbara Aspinall

If you are in the area you are most welcome to join our in person worship service at 9:30 am in our sanctuary for the month of August. The Session at its last meeting decided that we can make wearing masks optional in the worship service. We will continue to try to sit apart from one another.

2022 08 28 THink about it tomorrow

Our Session has chosen our local food pantry, Twelve Baskets, to be our summer special mission. Twelve Baskets receives food supplies from several sources. One is the state-wide food distribution center based in Hillside, the Community Food Bank. The other main source is local contributions of food and hygiene supplies given by    generous individuals in our area. A couple of families provide eggs from their backyard chickens. Our Session has decided to gather and contribute this summer one of the more precious commodities not available through the food bank: coffee. The limited supply of coffee that Twelve Baskets gathers is a favorite among the guests and the supply usually runs out before the demand does. So, when you see coffee on sale, (ground, regular coffee - not flavored) please buy a can or two and bring to the church or drop off at First Presbyterian Church, Stirling. Checks to help purchase other needed items are always welcome also! Mark your check “12 Baskets.
